Although this topic appears to be quite weather beaten it needs to be raised at every opportunity.  It’s interesting to see The Economist focused on this issue in Europe, even Angela Merkel declared youth unemployment to be Europe’s most pressing problem in that one risks a lost generation if left unattended.

In essence the European governments are looking at all sorts of funding to try and ensure youth employment, already schemes such as apprenticeships are starting to work.

The European parliaments stated that it is disastrous that eight million of their youth are unemployed, this is a really high figure as one in five is unemployed.  The European governments have recognised that this is a real issue and needs to be tackled immediately.  If compared to South Africa we are almost two in five that are unemployed and effectively the problem here is doubled.
